The Ministry of Health was introducing a redesigned Advanced Triage System with the purpose of improving patient flow through ER and increasing patient satisfaction with the reduction of the overall length of stay. Kingston General Hospital was selected as a pioneer for this new process.

The Kingston General Hospital’s ER Department initially had a Disposable Curtain System, but wanted it replaced with fabric. Defining the scope, Belroc created a hybrid system allowing for a fabric and disposable privacy curtains. Thus, the Suspend Modular Curtain System was born.

As with all Emergency departments, the control of a highly infectious environment is paramount in public healthcare. Defining both the required control and the requested fabric options, Belroc’s Suspend System was KGH’s preferred and sole sourced choice to meet the Ministry of Health’s concept.

Having created such a strong partnership with KGH and Cupido Construction, Belroc’s Projects Team were privileged to help Direct the teams through to install. Belroc’s Project Team invested itself in the job, visiting the ER Department frequently to make sure the product installation was going smoothly and to keep communication clear with all parties involved. Despite time schedules being restricted, Belroc worked around this to deliver the full
solution, efficiently, on time, and as defined.
